Built in 1921, this stately red building was home to the largest dance floor on the West Coast. It has hosted many famous acts, including Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, and the Grateful Dead.

Bird's Nest Pastori's Lord Fairfax

Site of the Bird's Nest Historical Marker, the former home of Lord Fairfax, the former Pastori's "Bird's Nest" Restaurant.  The home of "Lord" Charlie Snowden Fairfax, pioneer and political leader  of the 1850's, served California as an assemblyman (1853), Speaker of  the Assembly (1854), and Clerk of the State Supreme Court (1856).  Fairfax, a descendent of Scottish barons
